If your account has been compromised, it will be temporarily locked to secure your account and personal information. We will take the following actions to prevent further use.
 

Unauthorized use

We will lock your account temporarily until you change your password. You will be notified via the email address associated with your account. You’ll be able to log in if you change your password. In some apps, a pop-up message will be displayed.

In order to secure your personal information, we will disconnect your account from other online services.

Here are the examples:
  • X(Twitter)
  • Facebook
  • PlayStation(R)Network

[If you cannot receive emails from us]
We highly recommend resetting your password immediately.
Go to the following link to reset your password:
  1. Visit https://account.nicovideo.jp/password/reset Enter your email address.
    Enter your email address. If you use free email addresses like Yahoo or Gmail, it is most likely placed in your spam/junk folder. Please check your additional folders as well. It may take some time for the email to reach you.
  2. Go to the link in the email that will let you create a new password
  3. Log in to your account again

[If your email is invalid]
Please open a ticket with us and make sure to title it as "Unable to reset password due to the compromised login" so we can assist you as soon as possible.
